This song is for my daughter Marylou who was a boy until she was 10 at which time she started the hormonal therapy required for her upcoming sex change. Already at age 5 she had mentioned to us that she was a girl trapped inside a boy’s body but we did not think much of it at that time because she was so young. However as the years went by, she became extremely anxious and the urge to come out as a girl was getting stronger and stronger. When she was 10 we agreed to support her through the transition.

The song is me trying to describe how she was feeling inside during the years of questioning until she was able to spread her wings and become who she really was inside.
